ELEVATE LESSON NOTES JULY 12, 2009

"LEARNING TO RE-IMAGINE YOUR DESTINY"

CASTING DOWN IMAGINATIONS......THAT ARE AGAINST THE WORD OR WILL OF GOD!!! 2 CORINTHIANS 10:5

1. God gave you your imagination to build off of His word, a life full of hope, opportunity, health and vibrance.

2. Your imagination should be used as a "positive" tool in living your life to the full extent God intended.

3. If you imagine or focus on negative plots, scenarios or outcomes for your life reality will catch up.

EXAMPLES:




1. Michael Jackson (according to his ex-wife), believed he was to die like Elvis Presely did (a drug overdose)







2. Elvis Presely could never imagine his life at peace. So he accidentaly killed himself with drugs trying to find peace.




3. King Saul in the Bible, couldn't imagine any positive outcome for his life. He tries to kill "David the Shepherd Boy, seeks guidance from a witch, and then kills himself. (1 samuel chapters 19-31)

FOCUS:

1. What deep seated negative belief or imagination do you have about your life?

2. Some people imagine sickness because someone in their family has it.

3. Some people imagine divorce because their parents went through it.

4. Some people can only imagine darkness for their life due to the example they see around them.

IT'S YOUR TURN:

1. It's up to you to answer this question: If you feel strongly that something dark or negative will follow your life no matter what.... then.... what are -YOU- going to do about it???? I will leave you with these scriptures to help.

I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me

(2)Philippians 4:7 (New International Version)
And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

(3)ISAIAH 54:17
No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD.
